The Team Behind the Team Award presented by Town and Country Roofing honors a senior student from each Frisco ISD high school that has shown exemplary efforts to support their football team and show school spirit. The student can come from any
area of the student body and a scholarship will be presented to the winners.

October 20, 2023

Sophie Fernandes – Frisco Emerson High School

Sophie is an integral part of building our school spirit all around campus and in the community at our middle schools.  She has been the mascot, “Major”, at Emerson since the school opened in addition to being a multi-sport athlete.  Sophie is on the girls’ soccer team and runs cross country.  Academically, she’s also the Vice President of “Best Buddies” and is a member of the National Honor Society, and HOSA-Future Health Professionals of America.  Noted as being kind to everyone she encounters, Sophie is a positive representation of Emerson High School wherever she goes.

Julia Autry – Frisco Wakeland High School

Julia is a positive and caring leader on campus and in the community.  She’s a great young woman, who gets her fellow students involved in campus initiatives that help promote school spirit.  A member of the student council as Senior Class President, she also takes part in Yearbook, Empowerment Club and Cards for a Cause.  An all-around joy on the Wakeland campus, she always has a smile on her face and is a huge source of encouragement at our school.  For her support of others and undeniable school spirit, Julia is the perfect recipient for the “Team Behind the Team” Award.

Addison Williams – Frisco Independence High School

Addison is known in and around the Independence High School campus as a total team player with her “we before me” approach.  Noted for her positivity, sportsmanship, and spirit, she’s also a key member of the Knights girls’ volleyball team.  In addition to that, she is also a member of Knight’s TV, Student Council, and the African American Studies Student Association.  You’ll never catch Addison without a smile on her face and a can-do attitude.  For her support of others and undeniable school spirit, Addison is the perfect recipient for the “Team Behind the Team” Award.

Nick Khoury – Frisco Lebanon Trail High School

Nick is known for his unwavering commitment and support at Lebanon Trail High School.  This fall, he stood out amongst his peers, helping lead freshman orientation.  Whether he’s fulfilling his duties as President of the Student Council or in his role as the school mascot, he’s extremely supportive of all Lebanon Trail activities.  All and all, Nick is a great example for the entire student body.

Seth Rugg – Frisco Panther Creek High School

Involved in numerous activities throughout campus, Seth has been an integral part of building a friendly and positive culture at Panther Creek. Not only is he a drum major in the band, but he is also a member of the cross country, soccer, and track teams. Whether he’s competing on the field or the LOUDEST fan on the sidelines, Seth’s love and spirit for his school and peers shines through in every way.

Roderick Hayes, Jr. – Frisco Heritage High School

Roderick comes to football practice everyday at 5:30am with a smile on his face.  As a Student Manager, he plays such an integral role in making the football program a success.  No job is too big or too small for Roderick and he takes so much pride helping when and where he can.  He has also done a great job advocating for the football program in and around our community…recruiting other students with the same passion and love for football and Heritage High School, as well as the same work ethic and dedication all the Student Managers possess.  A great example and mentor to other students, Roderick is an invaluable member of our Coyote’s team!

Natalie Shoemaker – Frisco Memorial High School

Natalie is a four-year member of cheer and the Spirit Leader for her squad.  She and her team take great pride in decorating the campus with inspirational signs for the athletes and cheering them on at many sporting events.  Away from her cheer duties, Natalie is an active member of DECA, H-O-S-A and the Frisco Junior League. She also volunteers as a student ambassador and is a member of Best Buddies, a non-profit organization that focuses on supporting people with intellectual and developmental disabilities.

Shazer Arredondo – Frisco Lone Star High School

This past spring Shazer stepped up as a leader in the Lone Star Sports Medicine program.  She has spent countless hours behind the scenes preparing and organizing practice, game, and program plans for the 2023-24 school year.  Shazer has done all of this for Lone Star while also being such a tremendous help at home. The dedication and loyalty she has shown to the Rangers sports medicine program, athletics and her fellow students is beyond amazing.

Shepard Mills – Frisco High School

Shepard is known for his exceptional school spirit, consistent attendance at athletic events and leadership potential. Shepard’s sense of unity and camaraderie shines brightly throughout the campus and our community.  His enthusiastic presence has become synonymous with the spirted atmosphere that showcases Frisco High’s events. This nomination reflects Shepards unwavering support and sense of pride.  He is a great example for the entire student body.

Gabi Malyar – Frisco Liberty High School

Gabi is known as the “spirit” of the Frisco Liberty Band, and is by far one of the loudest and most passionate students at Liberty High School games.  She’s a kind and energetic student that works hard at all she does.  In addition to her band duties, Gabi is a member of the Jewish Student Union and the National Honor Society.  Next year, she plans to continue her education at Texas A&M.

Chris Bush – Frisco Reedy High School

Chris is a selfless leader on campus and in his community. He’s a great young man who acts with kindness, gets others to buy in and is always there protecting those around him.  He is a member of the football program and is on the school’s Leadership Council. He is respected by his peers because of the positivity and grace he displays, as well as his unwavering character and the compassion he has for others.  For his support of others and undeniable school spirit, Chris is the perfect recipient for the “Team Behind the Team” Award.

Addison Offner – Frisco Centennial High School

Addison has been incredibly dedicated, involved and goes above and beyond at school and in the community. Over the last four years, she has served as an athletic trainer, has been a member of the National Honor Society, and volunteers at the local SPCA.  Addison approaches each day with a smile and desire to bring joy to everyone in the Titan Nation.  For her support of others and undeniable school spirit, Addison is the perfect recipient for the “Team Behind the Team” Award.
