2020 SPRING INTERNSHIPS

FC Dallas, the Frisco Bowl and Toyota Stadium have created a unique hands-on experience for students looking to gain experience in the Sports, Marketing, and Entertainment industry.

We are looking for bright, passionate, hard-working students to be a part of our team through our internship program.

Toyota Stadium and Soccer Center is a first-of-its-kind facility located in Frisco, Texas. The complex features two major components: a 20,000 seat, state-of-the-art pro stadium immediately adjacent to a sports park with 17 championship-quality sports/soccer fields. Toyota Soccer Center is in use over 300 days per year, showcasing a wide variety of local, regional, national and international events.  Toyota Stadium is the home of the Frisco Bowl, a bowl game between two FBS teams each year.

All internships for the Frisco Bowl, FC Dallas, and Toyota Stadium & Soccer Center are unpaid internships, and must be used to receive college credit from an accredited university. The internships allow the individual to gain valuable experience with a professional organization for their future in the sports, entertainment and marketing industry. All candidate hours can be flexible to accommodate with your school or work schedule. Some nights, weekends, and holidays will be required.


2020 Spring Internship – Business Operations

 

Position Overview:
The Frisco Bowl is looking for a Business Operations Intern to assist the team with finance and other business operation initiatives in regards to the bowl game. The intern will report to the Executive Director and assist with day to day objectives of the bowl game.

Job Duties to include but not limited to:

  • Process check requests, invoices, and payments ensuring all appropriate approvals have been received
  • Update financial binders and reports communicate with co-workers, management, clients, franchisees and others in a courteous and professional manner
  • Scanning and filling of contracts
  • Inventory control of programs, souvenir helmets, sponsor tickets
  • Assist auditors with business operations audit
  • Assist with the management of budgets
  • Assist partnerships area with updating reports and inventory spreadsheets
  • Assist marketing with grassroots events operations and setup
  • Additional duties as necessary

Ideal Candidate:

  • Pursuing a degree and/or career in Finance, Accounting or any business-related area
  • Proficiency in MS Outlook, Word, Excel, PowerPoint are a must
  • Strong computer skills including Adobe Photoshop, social media, other networking sites, writing, editing and typing skills
  • Excellent communications skills
  • Dynamic and confident personality
  • Ability to handle multiple priorities and simultaneous projects
  • Ability to work independently as well as in team environment
  • Must be able to work a flexible schedule to include some nights, weekends and holidays based on event schedule
  • Must be an active college student

2020 Spring Internship – Marketing/Digital Media

Position Overview:
The Frisco Bowl is looking for a Marketing/Digital Media Intern to assist the team with marketing and social media initiatives to promote the bowl game and increase brand awareness. The intern will report to the Executive Director and assist with day to day objectives of the bowl game.

Job Duties to include but not limited to:

  • Detailed and hands-on operations within the Marketing Department
  • Assist in the development of marketing strategies to increase overall brand awareness of Frisco Bowl and its events
  • Marketing and promotional efforts such as: advertising, marketing communications and promotions.
  • Conceptualize, capture and execute multimedia projects for online, social media, games, in-stadium presentation and more
  • Assist with creation of media items including TV, Radio, Print and Digital
  • Assist in coordinating Frisco Bowl’s marketing research projects
  • Assist in coordinating Frisco Bowl’s social media exposure
  • Assist in creation and execution of in-game script, promotions and entertainment
  • Assist in development and execution of all community promotions
  • Assist in the coordination of Frisco Bowl promotions team
  • Oversee web and social media content for the Frisco Bowl to include relevant content
  • The scheduling and organization of logistics and implementation during promotions
  • Assist with researching, ordering and managing inventory of promotional giveaway items
  • Assist in promotions as related to the various Frisco Bowl marketing activities
  • Assist with creation of recap books of all media, collateral and licensing items

2020 Spring Internship – Communications

Position Overview:
The Frisco Bowl is looking for a Communications intern to assist the team with communication initiatives to promote the bowl game. The intern will report to the Executive Director and assist with day to day objectives of the bowl game.

Job Duties to include but not limited to:

  • Support external communication to all media outlets and assigned bodies concerning Frisco Bowl programming and events; encompassing areas of media/public relations, television production, website operations, media operations and publication production.
  • Inter-department contact for events, per assignment.
  • Provide support for the coordination and dissemination of information for the Frisco Bowl game and other Frisco Bowl events.
  • Contribute to the media operations efforts for the Frisco Bowl.
  • Responsible for attendance at designated Frisco Bowl meetings, events and promotions.
  • Update program details as needed
  • Assist with FISD -and possibly other school districts- staff on events
  • Assist with Frisco Football League on events and programs
  • Writing and editing of content for publications
  • Assist in with implementation of community initiatives and programs such as
    • Educator of the year
    • Team Behind the Team
    • Sideline Reporter
  • Assist with media coordination efforts as it relates to TV, Radio, Print, etc.
  • Coordinate with Frisco Bowl Digital Media contact to support communications to digital media channels to include website, Twitter, Facebook and Instagram
  • Assist with marketing communications efforts and implement media action plan

Prerequisites:

  • Pursuing a degree and/or career in Digital Media, Marketing or Public Relations
  • Proficiency in MS Outlook, Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Adobe Photoshop and strong editing, writing and typing skills
  • Proficiency with social media (Facebook, Twitter, Instagram, etc.), video editing, other networking sites and photo editing software is a plus
  • Ability to lift a minimum of 20 pounds
  • Excellent communications skills

2020 Spring Internship – Events

Position Overview:
The Frisco Bowl is looking for an Events Intern to assist with the planning and preparation of events for bowl game activities. The intern will report to the Executive Director and assist with day to day objectives of the bowl game.

Job Duties to include but not limited to:

  • Assist in the planning and preparation for the Frisco Bowl Golf Classic
  • Exposure to the management of all events and logistical needs including, but not limited to, entertainment, catering, décor, signage, audio/visual, gifts, volunteers, guest services, and events spaces
  • Assist in the planning and execution of all events related to the Frisco Bowl
  • Provide support at the team host hotels, including room planning & logistics, meeting spaces, players’ lounges and hospitality lounges
  • Assist in the development & direction of events including, but not limited to, Team Arrival Dinner, Player Gift Suite, Kids Day Out, Ladies Day Out, Joint Team Dinner, Charity & Hospital Visits, VIP Reception, and Pregame Party
  • Provide assistance to the Events & Guest Services Coordinator

Prerequisites:

  • Pursuing a degree and/or career in Sports Management or Event Planning
  • Must be able to receive class credit for internship
  • Proficiency in MS Outlook, Word, Excel, and PowerPoint
  • Ability to lift a minimum of 20 pounds
