10. First Frisco Bowl Kicks Off
The Louisiana Tech Bulldogs and the SMU Mustangs meet at Toyota Stadium in Frisco to kick off the inaugural Frisco Bowl on December 20, 2017. The Bulldogs eventually prevailed over the Mustangs, 51-10.
9. J’Mar Smith Finds Teddy Veal to extend the Bulldog Lead
Louisiana Tech quarterback J’Mar Smith’s 27-yard scoring toss to Teddy Veal extended the Bulldogs’ lead over the SMU Mustangs late in the first half. This incredible touchdown completion led the Bulldogs to a 35-3 lead over the Mustangs and would ultimately help Louisana Tech seal the victory.
8. Johnson Scrambles for an Aztec Touchdown
San Diego State’s Lucas Johnson scrambles 2-yards for a TD. Johnson’s fourth touchdown of the game clinched an Aztecs victory in the 2021 Frisco Bowl over UTSA, 38-24.
7. Baskerville’s Interception Sets up a San Diego State Score
(5:37 – 3rd) San Diego State’s CJ Baskerville intercepts a pass attempt at the SDSU 31. Baskerville’s turnover resulted in an Aztec touchdown to take a 31-17 lead late in the third quarter, and him being named the 2021 Frisco Bowl Defensive MVP for this critical play.
6. Rourke Runs for Six
Ohio quarterback Nathan Rourke fools the entire defense before he scampers into the end zone for the first touchdown of the 2018 Frisco Bowl against San Diego State. Rourke’s nine-yard scoring run gave the Bobcats a 10-0 lead late in the first half. The Bobcats eventually shut out the Aztecs by a score of 27-0.
5. Matthews Dives Past the UTSA Defense
San Diego State’s Lucas Johnson touchdown pass completed to Jessie Matthews for 20 yards. Matthews’ incredible dive at the pylon was the first of two touchdowns he had that night. The 2021 Frisco Bowl Offensive MVP also set new records in receptions (11) and receiving yards (175 yards).
4. Jamal Parker’s 46-Yard Clutch Kick Return
(3:06 – 4th) Kent State’s Jamal Parker scoops up a late onside kick and returns it 46 yards and deep into Utah State territory late in the game. Parker’s return helped set up Dustin Crum’s 4-yard scoring scamper to clinch Kent State’s first bowl win in program history just a few plays later.
3. Mariner Finds His Footing Late to Pull Within 3
Utah State wideout Siaosi Mariner caps a long Aggie drive with a gorgeous 11-yard toe-tap touchdown to bring the Aggies within three points of Kent State in the 2019 Frisco Bowl at Toyota Stadium on December 20, 2019. Despite Mariner’s efforts with just over three minutes left in the game, Utah State fell to the Golden Flashes, 51-41.
2. Robertson Picks it off and Returns it for a Louisiana Tech Touchdown
Louisiana Tech defensive back Amik Robertson jumps a throw by SMU quarterback Ben Hicks and returns it to the end zone for a 45-yard touchdown to put Louisiana Tech up 14-0 in the 2017 Frisco Bowl at Toyota Stadium on December 20, 2017.
1. Crum Keeps it and Ices the Game for Kent State
Kent State quarterback Dustin Crum makes a perfect read and splits two defenders on his way to a 4-yard touchdown. Crum’s touchdown secured Kent State’s first bowl win in program history, and him being named the 2019 Frisco Bowl Offensive MVP.
